Backstory: The Silent Shore Clan, despite its name, lived within the Deserts of Anauroch, or The Great Sand Sea. It was here that Serene Sand was born. He grew up in a large family and though his brother and sisters leaned towards spiritualism or the ways of war, he found enjoyment in culture, lore, and song. Though instead of this, he was taught the way of steel and silver. His family and clan raided passing caravans and though bloodshed was kept to a minimum, Sand did not enjoy this lifestyle. During one raid they were defeated. A strange warrior that twisted songs and words into deadly powers had bested them. While his kin had retreated, Sand was intrigued by this individual and threw himself at his feet and mercy. Sand begged the stranger to train him. The stranger smiled, laughed, and reached his hand to Sand, lifting him to his feet. The stranger was a bard named Edwin Grisswold, a human bard and thespian extraordinaire. He was getting older and had desired a student for a long time. Sand was trained in the way of song, sword, and spell. Once his training had been complete he had been given a task to record the tales of a great hero and then return to his mentor. So Sand set out into the setting sun to find his hero.
